Athletic Awards Policy

|Comet Booster Club (Alums) |
Awards will fall into two categories: Seasonal
and Yearly.
Seasonal
Awards:
Seasonal awards will be given out at the discretion of the
coach at the conclusion of the season, preferably at a
meaningful event, but at nothing less than a team meeting.
Seasonal awards include:
- Varsity Certificate - presented
to all Varsity participants
- JV Certificate - presented to
all JV participants
- Sport Pin - presented to every
athlete in that sport each year.
- Varsity Letter - presented the
first time a student qualifies by playing on a varsity team
(ONLY ONE LETTER DURING THEIR VARSITY CAREER).
- County All-Academic Award –
Varsity ONLY (3.0 GPA minimum).
- Minds in Motion Award – JV and
Varsity (MPSSAA certificate for athletes who attain a minimum
3.25 GPA on the report card for that sport season).
Yearly Awards:
MVP and Unsung Hero (Varsity teams only),
Silver and Gold Senior trophies, and other special awards will
be distributed at the Annual Athletic Banquet in May and will be
announced at that time. The banquet is sponsored by the Comet
Booster Club.
