Are you concerned about your son or
daughter, or one of his or her friends, and not sure what to do?
A change in behavior or appearance, a drop in academic
performance, glassy bloodshot eyes, or drug- or alcohol-symbolic
clothing may be some indications that a PAT referral
should be made.
PAT
is a helping and supportive team funded through Safe and Drug
Free Schools. These teams are available in all high schools and
middle schools to promote healthy choices and recommendations
for assessment/ and or treatment when necessary. PAT
meets weekly to discuss students who may need assistance for
drug and alcohol misuse or abuse.
Students can be
referred to PAT by parents, students, teachers,
administrators, or counselors. All referrals are confidential.
Please call your child’s school counselor if you wish to make a
referral or would like to discuss your concern. Remember, all
referrals will remain confidential and will not be a part of the
student’s record.
If you believe
your child maybe a candidate for these services, but are not
sure, then take the
Parent Survey.
Please contact your child’s school counselor to discuss
options.
