| All students should be challenged to read
literature that extends their vision and
understanding of the world. More than any
other single factor, reading influences student
success in writing, with critical thinking, and on
the SAT test; therefore, students need to read
widely and at a challenging level.
Reading in the CHS classroom is, at times,
directed and focused on building specific skills.
At other times, reading is independent.
Reading for pleasure, as well as reading to learn,
is emphasized during the school year as well as in
our summer reading program. |
