Greetings Parents and Guardians, this is Ms. Landen, Assistant Principal at Catonsville High School.

This is a reminder that on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, 11th grade (juniors) students in Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) will participate in a special school day administration of the SAT. All juniors who attend school are expected to participate in the test administration. Students in grades 9 and 10, will follow their regularly scheduled school day with an adjusted bell schedule and students in grade 12 will remain in the auditorium for the entire school day.

On the night before the test, juniors should get a good night’s sleep and on the morning of the test, should eat a nutritious breakfast and arrive to school no later than 7:40 A.M., as the test administration will begin promptly at 8:00 A.M. Students will receive their test day passes with their testing location in their homeroom on or before Thursday, April 21, 2022. Early dismissals will not be permitted until after the test administration has concluded at 1:30 P.M.; therefore, if at all possible, please do not schedule dental and doctor’s appointments on this day. If students normally leave early for work or early release, they will not be able to do so without running the risk of having their test invalidated.

On test day, juniors should bring the following:

· A photo ID (BCPS or other form of ID)

· Two #2 pencils; mechanical pencils are not acceptable.

· An approved calculator with extra batteries. No batteries will be available.

· A valid email address.

· Snacks and water.

The following items will not be permitted in the testing room:

· Any electronic devices. If a cell phone, iPod or other electronic device makes a noise or is used in a testing room it will invalidate the student’s test scores and could invalidate the test scores of all students in the room.

Also, the PTSA has generously purchased granola bars and bottled water, but juniors may choose to bring an additional snack. It is a long test and students will not be permitted to eat lunch until the test has concluded. If juniors wish to eat after testing, they will need to bring a bag lunch or purchase a lunch from the cafeteria.

Please see your counselor if you have any questions.

Thank you and have a pleasant evening.
