Thank you for attending Back to School Night last night! As we end the week, we have an update and a few reminders for parents and guardians.
Student Handbook
The grade level Administrators are busy conducting Handbook Talks with students this week. You may review the BCPS Student Handbook here. Parents and guardians are able to complete the Student Handbook Acknowledgement signature page in Focus Parent Portal for their BCPS student(s). This form will be available year-round and stored in the Focus Student Information System. Instructions are available here.
Student Info Review and Privacy Options
The Annual Student Information Review and Student Privacy Options forms are now available on the Focus Parent portal. The forms will display your previously saved options. Parents/Guardians can review and amend changes before submission. The Annual Student Info review form is required for Parents to access information through the portal. The Student Privacy Options form is optional. Directions for Parents to Create a Focus Portal account are available on our school website.
Student Absences
When a student is absent from school, BCPS Board Policy and Rule 5120 indicates that a note signed by the parent/guardian, including the student’s name, date of absence and reason for absence, will be presented immediately upon the student’s return to school. Absence notes can be submitted to Catonsville High School in one of two ways. Students can bring the absence note directly to the Main Office or parents/guardians can email the absence note to [email protected] and include "absence" in the subject line. The absence note must be presented no later than five days after the student’s return to school.
Free and Reduced Lunch
BCPS serve nutritious meals to thousands of students each school day. Meals are available at no cost for students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. If your child attends a non-CEP school please apply for meal benefits as soon as possible! It only takes a few minutes to complete online and translations are available. If you need assistance in completing your application, please contact the main office.
